Goddess Demeter 8x10

Demeter is from ancient Greek mythology and the goddess of agriculture, grain, fertility, and the nuturing cycles of the earth. She embodies both the life-giving and the deep, personal, bond between parent and child.

She governs everything that allows crops to grow and communities to thrive. Her daughter is Persephone , and after her capture and was taken to the underworld, Demeter's sorrows caused the earth to become barren. Each time Persephone returns, Demeter's happiness increases. 

This print represents a defining trait of devotion to her child, those who place family, loyalty, and protection at the center of life.
